I was wondering if you could provide what ROM/firmware could be flashed in order to eliminate the brief error when booting. Also, what other programs are needed (I'm pretty sure I can find out on XDA but it'll make it easier if you could provide the info). Thanks!

Honestly it's been so long since I've looked through the dev boards on XDA, I couldn't say for sure. I would assume though it would just require a flash back to stock, then onto to what ever is the lastest/greatest ROM.

Does this phone include a SIM and, if not, do you know of a source from which one could be acquired? Also, can you say whether this phone might be usable with such CDMA MVNO's such as Tello and Twigby?

Hi, unfortunately no the SIM card can't be included. The SIM card is what gives your phone its number and identity on the network and after being used can also store data like contacts and call logs. Whichever network provider you choose will supply you with one. Tello and Twigby both utilize the Sprint host network so I would say yes, this device should be usable.
