Thanks for your questions, Stu. As for the firmware password and Filevault I will need to check on that and turn it off. As for a first-time Apple Mac user, I'd say it's a good start - obviously there is no difference on the OS side compared to brand-new Mac's. The main question with Mac's for me is always - how much do I want to spend for how much computer power. And it depends on your work (or gaming) needs to judge if the processor power and RAM of the 2014 model is sufficient for you...

Thanks so much for the information and response but I actually found a way to get my MacBook Pro that a friend of mine gave me. To work. There was a firmware password and I bought a little gadget that would bypass it.

Johana, the only accessory is a charger. I don't have the original laptop box but I was planning on shipping it with the laptop box from my new MacBook Pro that I just bought - so it is protected during shipping.

$500? I live in Pasadena. So shipping via USPS would be cheap and quick to me. What do you say? adjust price and consider it sold.
