What is the battery cycle count? Thanks!

What's the cycle count

Pictured in the first photo at 847. Cheers!

Hi Keaton, great notebook, I have a question on the cycle count and the coconut battery - how does 847 cycles equal 98% of design capacity - that's incredible. I would expect it to be more at like 70% at that time? Looks splendid otherwise, currently looking for something basic to start with for a kid. cheers, Nick

Nikolas, I know! I have always done a complete discharge and recharge every few months and logged from 90% to 95% over the years. I wish Coconut would backup the logs but when I reformatted it wipes out my 20+ log history. The good thing is batteries are not that expensive and easy to swap.

Hi Keaton, thanks for explaining. Why are you selling it, if I may ask? Would be willing to go a bit lower? He'll use his own money for it, so anything is highly appreciated!

Nikolas, I went to a new 12 Macbook due to work and needing a 512GB drive. Sadly, the geekbench is pretty much the same on the new Macbooks as this older Air. I would love to keep it as the new Macbooks trap you with USB-C. Anyway, it was time to upgrade!

Make an offer, I'm game!

Cheers!

What is a coconut battery??

Oct 13, 2018 - 03:39 PM

Hi Keaton, makes sense. Yes I checked the Geekbench and was rather surprised, it clocks right with the current Macbook 12inch. Would you be willing to go to 460 USD?

Keaton Seller

Nikolas, $460 is fair, I will do the price drop right now!

Cheers!

Ann, CoconutBattery is an application that states the health of your battery. It even does iPhone battery health as well!

Oct 13, 2018 - 05:25 PM

Hi Keaton, Thanks - I'm circling back with him and I'll have a decision by tomorrow morning!

Oct 14, 2018 - 04:42 AM

Hi Keaton, he asked me if you recently tested how long it lasts on a charge with normal use of browsing email, photos and YouTube? Ballpark number obviously.

Keaton Seller
- Oct 14, 2018 - 07:28 AM

Nikolas, That is a hard number to get down. I would say 6-8hrs but youtube would probably drop that and it depends on display brightness. I have never felt like the battery has drained fast and usually go days without a charge.

Cheers!

Oct 14, 2018 - 09:27 AM

Hi Keaton, gotcha. I'm just expecting to have to change the battery for sure, which I don't mind, but which costs 130 USD if done professionally, so if we split that cost 50/50, 430 USD is where we'd end up from your original price - would that make sense to you? Please let me confirm once, before you drop the price, so I can immediately buy, if we agree.

Nikolas, Sounds good, price dropped!

Cheers !
