The warranty expires in August 2019, right now the device is not associated with any icloud account.

Is the laptop still eligible for AppleCare? Or had the period expired. When putting in the serial on the Apple website what does it say.

Yes it is still eligible for Apple Care, I checked it on website, it's says " Eligible for an Apple Care product ".
