The updated February 2013 release included a 128GB storage option. The fourth-generation iPad kept the same 9.7-inch display, and the resolution was increased to 2048 x 1536. The iPad was powered by the Apple A6X processor, had options to get a WiFi-only model, and a WiFi + Cellular model, and it launched with iOS 6.0. Other features of the iPad included a 1.2MP front-facing camera, a 5MP rear-facing camera, a home button, a volume rocker, a function switch, and a Lightning connector for charging.

The iPad Mini 4 was originally released in October 2015, and this fourth-generation model saw some improvements as compared to the third-generation iPad Mini 3. The iPad Mini 4 launched with the Apple M8 chip and Apple M8 motion coprocessor. The tablet had options for 16GB, 64GB, or 128GB of internal storage, and while the display size and resolution remained the same at 7.9-inches and 2048 x 1536, the display was fully laminated and had an anti-reflective coating. Apple kept the fingerprint sensor for Touch ID, and other features of the iPad Mini 4 included WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, a barometer, and a 5124 mAh battery. The iPad Mini 4 kept the 1.2MP FaceTime camera on the front and bumped the rear-camera to an 8MP iSight camera. This model launched with iOS 9.0 and kept the option for a WiFi-only model and WiFi + Cellular model.

The 4th generation iPad Pro 12.9” was released in March 2020, and this model served as the follow-up to the 3rd generation iPad Pro 12.9” which was released in November 2018. The 4th generation iPad Pro 12.9” arrived with some improvements as compared to the third-generation model, however, there were also quite a few similarities. For example, the 12.9” display remained as a Liquid Retina display with ProMotion technology and True Tone. Both models also offer up to 1TB of internal storage, a 7MP TrueDepth camera on the front, a USB-C connector for charging, Face ID for security, and support for the 2nd generation Apple Pencil, Magic Keyboard, and Apple Smart Keyboard Folio. The new features for the 4th generation iPad Pro 12.9” include the Apple A12Z Bionic chip with Neural Engine, a LiDAR scanner, and a dual rear camera with a 12MP wide and 10MP ultra-wide lens.

The 11” iPad Pro 2020 is the second-generation iPad Pro 11 and it was announced in March 2020. This release brought several new hardware improvements to the iPad itself, along with new accessories such as the Magic Keyboard. The iPad Air 11” 2020 also supports the 2nd generation Apple Pencil and Apple Smart Keyboard Folio. The 11” display is Liquid Retina with ProMotion technology and True Tone and it has a resolution of 2388 x 1668. Some of the other hardware features include a 7MP TrueDepth camera on the front, a dual-camera setup on the back with a 12MP wide and 10MP ultra-wide, and a LiDAR scanner. The iPad Pro 11” 2020 allows for up to 1TB of internal storage space, has a USB-C connector for charging, and is powered by the Apple A12Z Bionic chip with Neural Engine. This model iPad Pro also has Face ID for device security, four-speaker audio, and a Smart Connector on the back that allows for easy connecting with accessories such as the Magic Keyboard.

The 4th generation iPad Air was released in October 2020 and this release marked a notable change from the previous-generation iPad Air. The 4th generation iPad Air adopted the squared-off design from the iPad Pro lineup, and it is also available in a variety of colors. The color lineup for the 4th generation iPad Air includes green and sky blue, along with the more traditional space gray, silver, and rose gold. The display is a 10.9” Liquid Retina with True Tone, and the iPad is powered by the Apple A14 Bionic chip with Neural Engine. The charging port shifted from Lightning to USB-C, and other features include up to 256GB of storage space, a 7MP FaceTime HD camera on the front, and a 12MP wide camera with Smart HDR 3 for photos and 4k video recording at 24, 25, 30 or 60 frames-per-second on the back. The 4th generation iPad Air also added support for newer accessories such as the 2nd generation Apple Pencil, the Magic Keyboard, and Smart Keyboard Folio, and the Touch ID sensor moved from a home button on the screen to the power button.

Apple launched the iPad Air 3 in March 2019. Released nearly 5 years after its immediate predecessor, the third-generation model boasts vastly improved specifications such as the significantly more powerful Apple A12 Bionic chip, 3GB of RAM for smoother multitasking, and either 64GB or 256GB of internal storage. In addition to the spec bumps, the iPad Air 3 also features a larger and higher resolution 10.5-inch laminated display with True Tone and Apple Pencil (1st gen) support, as well as an improved 7MP f/2.2 selfie camera for sharper FaceTime video conferencing. The third-generation iPad Pro was released in November 2018, and similar to previous versions of the iPad Pro, this latest release included two display sizes. Apple released the third-generation iPad Pro with a 12.9-inch and an 11-inch display. Both sizes include many of the same features, such as launching with iOS 12.1 and being powered by the Apple A12X Bionic chip with Apple M12 motion coprocessor and 4GB of RAM (on the 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage capacities. The 1TB model has 6GB of RAM. The 12.9-inch Retina display has a resolution of 2732 x 2048, a 264 ppi, and a 120-hertz refresh rate. Other hardware features include a 12MP iSight camera on the back, a 7MP FaceTime camera on the front, and a 9720 mAh battery. Notable changes on the third-generation iPad Pro include a switch from the Lightning connector to USB-C, and switching from a home button with Touch ID to Face ID for device security.

The display remained the same at 7.9-inches with a resolution of 2048 x 1536, and the Mini 3 was powered by the Apple A7 chip and Apple M7 motion coprocessor. The camera setup was also the same with a 1.2MP on the front and a 5MP on the back. The iPad Mini 3 launched with iOS 8.1 and was available with options for 16GB, 64GB, or 128GB of storage. Other features of the iPad Mini 3 include WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and a 6471 mAh battery. The overall feature set remained the same, however, Apple did add a fingerprint sensor for Touch ID. You can also find the iPad Mini 3 in WiFi-only and WiFi + Cellular variants, with the cellular model also having assisted GPS.

Apple released the third-generation iPad in March 2012. The third-generation iPad kept many of the same features found on earlier versions, such as the 9.7-inch display, 30-pin dock connector, options for 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of internal storage space, and it was available in a WiFi-only or WiFi + Cellular model. The cellular connectivity did step up from the iPad 2, with the third-generation iPad now offering 3G and LTE connectivity. The front-facing camera remained the same at 0.3MP VGA, and the rear-facing camera was bumped to a 5MP with the ability to record 1080p video. Other features of the third-generation iPad include iOS 5.1 along with the Apple A5X chip, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, a home button, volume rocker, and function switch that could be used to mute and/or lock the rotation.
