The iPhone 12 mini has a more advanced camera than the iPhone SE (2022). On the front, the 12 mini has a 12MP TrueDepth camera and the SE (2022) has a 7MP TrueDepth camera. On the rear, the 12 mini has a dual 12MP wide and ultra-wide, and the SE (2022) has a single 12MP wide camera. The iPhone 12 mini supports Night Mode and HDR video recording with Dolby Vision, which is not available on the SE (2022), however, the iPhone SE supports Photographic Styles.

The iPhone 12 mini has a larger, and higher quality display than the iPhone SE (2022). The iPhone 12 mini has a 5.4” Super Retina XDR (OLED) HDR display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080, a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and 1200 nits (HDR) max brightness. Shared features include True Tone, wide color (P3), and a 625 nits (typical) max brightness.

The battery life of the iPhone 12 mini is the same as the iPhone SE (2022). Apple estimates these devices can provide up to 15 hours of video playback time or up to 50 hours of audio playback time. Both models are fast-charge capable using a Lighting cable and 20W wall power adapter and support Qi wireless charging. The only difference is the iPhone 12 mini also supports Apple’s MagSafe charging.
