iPhone 12 Mini vs iPhone 13 Mini

The iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 13 mini share nearly the same measurements. Each of these models measures 5.18 inches in height, and 2.53 inches in width, with a display size of 5.4 inches. The iPhone 12 mini measures 0.29” (D) and the iPhone 13 mini measures 0.30” (D). Otherwise, the iPhone 12 mini weighs 4.76 ounces and the iPhone 13 mini is slightly heavier at 4.97 ounces.

Both the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini feature a dual 12MP wide and ultra-wide camera on the back, with a 12MP TrueDepth camera on the front. They also share many of the same key features such as Night Mode, Deep Fusion, and Portrait Mode. But the iPhone 13 mini has some features that aren’t available on the iPhone 12 mini. The iPhone 12 mini screen features a 625 nits (typical) max brightness, whereas the iPhone 13 mini typical max brightness is 800 nits. Otherwise, both models have a 5.4” Super Retina XDR (OLED) display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080, a PPI of 476, and a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Other features include HDR, True Tone, wide color (P3), Haptic Touch, and 1200 nits (HDR) max brightness.

The battery capacity on the iPhone 12 mini is 2,227 mAh, and the battery capacity on the iPhone 13 mini is 2,406 mAh. In terms of usage, this equates to up to 15 hours of video playback time or up to 50 hours of audio playback time on the iPhone 12 mini, and up to 17 hours of video playback time or up to 55 hours of audio playback time on the iPhone 13 mini. Otherwise, both models are fast-charge capable when using a Lightning cable and 20W wall power adapter, and can also charge using a Qi-wireless charging pad or Apple’s MagSafe charging system.
