Responding to Interested Customers Directly

Is there a way for a seller to respond to an interested customer directly? It is a little bit of a hassle trying to answer a customer that makes an offer that you're considering. There's no way for us as a seller to message back and forth with them directly except through the comments. But comment notifications are hit or miss and sometimes won't let a seller or buyer know they took an offer.
