How does Swappa verify devices are paid off?
I’ve encountered sellers who, when asked in the comments section, are dodgy when it comes to saying whether or not the carrier-locked phone they are selling is paid off. This is especially true of newly-released models like the iPhone 15 series.
Makes me worry sellers are listing financed phones on Swappa and that I may encounter problems getting it unlocked in the future or even worse, that the phone will be blacklisted / blocklisted.
How does Swappa verify devices are free and clear?
