In order to hone in some recommendations for you, I have to ask a few questions:

• Which device were you looking at?
• What type of design are you hoping to learn?
• Which design applications you'll be using?
• What's your budget?

But if you're looking for more general recommendations, I think that it's hard to beat a modern iPad with Apple Pencil if you want a creative-focused tablet that you can take on the go.

Several Swappa staff members own and love the 2020 iPad Pro 11" and the 2020 iPad Pro 12.9". Both models offer phenomenal screens, incredibly fast processors, and Apple Pencil support -- and more importantly, support for a huge library of creative titles from Adobe and others.

And if you're looking for something a bit more budget-friendly, then an older generation iPad Pro should work just fine.
