The best time to sell
It's all about timing.
If you want to sell the Galaxy S20 and the S21 is coming soon, you want to time your sale before the rumors begin for the new model because then people get FOMO. Because the truth is that the S20 is a perfectly good phone, but once the tech sites start talking about fancy new features for the new model, desire for S20 goes down.
A good rule of thumb, IMO, is to try to sell your "outgoing" phone 3-4 months before the new one to maximize what you can sell it for.
