New iPhone 13 Mini Unlocked 128gb Starlight

This is a brand new iPhone 13 Mini direct from Apple that I received on October 9 2023 (replacement receipt attached). Apple gave me this device as a courtesy replacement to my previous iPhone 13 Mini which was broken by the genius bar during a repair. The new phone took a few days to arrive, and by the time I received this replacement I had already upgraded to another phone. Hence this is now for sale.

Apple also replaced the screen on November 28. Oddly when I turned the phone on for Swappa photos the screen stopped responding. See second receipt attached.

The device is completely unlocked and ready for the next user. Battery health is at 100%. iCloud has never been logged into.

The device will ship this in the box of my original iPhone 13 Mini complete with a manual and power cable. Please note that the IMEI and Serial# of the box won't match the phone because the device is a replacement of the original purchased in Nov 2021.

Happy to answer any additional questions.

Hi Michel,

The iPhone 13 mini which you had repaired before this replacement was sent, what was the repair for? Curious about reliability.

Appreciate your help.

Amanda - I just went in for a voluntary battery replacement. The phone had 86% battery health after about 2 years and I was leaving the country for a while and trying to be proactive to prolong how long I could use it. The repair just didn’t go as planned. For what it’s worth, I upgraded to another iPhone 13 mini, just with 256gb of storage. Phone has been reliable for me.

Hey Michel, appreciate the info. So it cost you $0 for the initial replacement battery but $229 for the screen repair on the replacement phone that Apple sent you? Just trying to understand the amounts on the receipts you posted. Thanks again.

Hey Amanda - the timeline is a bit confusing so I'm happy to clarify. My original iPhone 13 Mini was purchased on Nov 15 2021. In October 2023 I brought this phone to Apple for a battery replacement and was prepared to pay the standard $89 charge to replace the battery. Unfortunately this is when the original phone was damaged during the battery replacement. Apple recognized it as their fault and agreed to replace the damaged phone with a completely new one. The new iPhone was picked up 5 days later on October 9 and is documented in receipt 1 for $0. On Nov 27 I went to take photos of the new phone for Swappa. This is when the screen stopped responding. So I brought the phone back to Apple on Nov 28. After running tests they agreed to replace the display. I signed a waiver that Apple wouldn't charge me anything for this and they didn't. When I received the second receipt it had the standard $229 cost for a display replacement but this cost was actually borne by Apple.

Thanks for that timeline. That’s incredibly helpful. Your asking price of $628 seems a bit high though. I could go on Apple’s website and buy a brand new iPhone 13 with the same storage for $599 (before tax). I’m wondering how you came up with your price.

It’s really a case of supply and demand. Apple stopped selling the 13 Mini earlier this year. Same with every major retailer. This is why it took 5 days to arrive when I needed the replacement. A brand new, unused 13 Mini is rare at the moment. This one has the receipt to verify it. There’s a community of iPhone users loyal to the Mini and new ones are harder and harder to find after Apple discontinued them. If you can find a new one to buy at a better price I’d jump on it. NIB in eBay is going for $680. Thanks.

I can respect that. The one thing that worries me is you already had to get the screen replaced on this device. I know Apple at least covered it that for you. Is there any warranty on the repair you had? Thanks for all of your help in answering my questions.
