Can this be used with Verizon?
Yes, it should compatible with Verizon.

The iPad also has a removable SIM card, but if you choose to use the included one, the available networks are AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and GigSky.

battery health?
Hi Tom,
Battery Health is not visible on iPads, so I unfortunately can’t give you a number. I can say however that the battery life is good and it can stay in standby mode for several days without having to be plugged in.
