There are some minor scratches on the screen and near the edge on the curve (see photos), and some cosmetic damage (color loss from the paint) around the USB-C charging port.

Are the scratches on the screen noticeable if you put a screen protector on? If you don't have one, you might be able to wipe it with a slightly wet/damp paper towel (just enough so a bit of water fills the scratches) to see if the scratches go away. Obviously ok if you're worried about breaking it but not a fan of scratches on the screen so it does matter to me.
Secondly, has the phone ever been repaired or otherwise opened?

The phone has never been opened or repaired in any way.
The scratches are deep enough that the moisture from a damp cloth did not fill in the gap. Obviously, with a screen protector, they were not palpable, but they were mildly noticeable (not distracting).
