Why this spec in 2026: 64GB unified memory at 400GB/s runs 70B-class local LLMs (Ollama, MLX, llama.cpp) and the 8TB holds a full model library. It spent its life docked doing mostly that work. Turnkey for local AI or homelab duty.
Battery: 846 cycles, 78% capacity, Service Recommended. For docked use that is a non-issue. Want road battery life? Apple quotes about $200-250 for a swap and this price already reflects it, not a negotiation lever.
