I got the 8GB RAM with 512GB SSD. It's a good value for the price. 8GB RAM is adequate for my uses, but ideally I wanted 16GB RAM/512GB SSD. However the price for that configuration was double (or so, refurbished/used) compared to just 8GB/512GB SSD.

So far I find it to be more than enough for my uses. I can have multiple programs going and not notice any lag. The computer just uses more swap memory to compensate and avoid slowdowns during heaviest of loads wth RAM hungry apps. I'm not using this professionally or making money with this computer, so it's not a big deal if I have to close something or something takes a little longer to convert. I had a problem with some backup software causing the computer to behave poorly, but once that was gone it was fine.

Anyway, the battery life is really great on this thing, it just keeps going. It stays really cool and does not get very warm at all. No fan noise either. The M1 chip is a real game changer. Charges fast. Very light and can use it like a laptop, not stuck on a table with charger. It's a great value refurbished or used especially. I'd recommend getting the 512gb SSD to future proof it a little longer.

Snappy, portable, excellent build quality

I'd sold an aging Macbook Pro and was hoping that the newer M1 Air would work for me. It's a beast! Great machine and so fast.

The 2020 MacBook Air with the M1 chip changes everything! Even a couple years old this is a mighty device that will last for many years
