The item was packed in 3 separate bubble wrap USPS envelopes, but a box could help prevent the item from being potentially snapped in shipping through the post office. The picture of the scuff on the back was accurately represented. The home button sticks a little and does not consistently press-in to activate functions, unless pressed-in very deliberately, almost requiring slightly firm force. Since this is my first iPad, I am not sure if this is normal. The price seemed fair.
