Shipping Policies
1. **Processing and Handling Time**
- Orders that are placed during the hours of 7:00 Am - 5:00 Pm EST Monday - Friday will be processed and shipped same day.
- Orders placed after 5:00 PM EST, will be processed and shipped on the next available business day.
- Orders placed on the weekend will be processed the next available business day.
- If there is an anticipated delay (e.g., due to inventory or supply chain issues), we will inform the buyer and update the order status accordingly.
2. **Packaging Requirements**
- All items are packaged securely to prevent damage during transit with packaging appropriate for the item’s size, weight, and fragility.
3. **Shipping Methods**
- All orders include UPS Ground shipping but are eligible for upgraded shipping for an extra fee. (Cost shown in description of listing)
4. **Tracking Information**
- Tracking information will be provided to the buyer once the order has been shipped.
- We regularly monitor all shipments to ensure there are no issues and promptly address any delivery exceptions.
5. **Return Shipping**
- If an item is returned due to damage, defect, or misrepresentation, we the seller are responsible for covering return shipping costs.
Return & Refund Policies
1. **Eligibility for Returns**
- Items are eligible for return if they meet any of the following conditions:
- Arrived damaged or defective
- Differed significantly from the listing description or photos
- Were the wrong item or incorrect quantity
- Buyers may request a return within 14 days of delivery.
2. **Return Request Process**
- Buyers can initiate a return request through Swappa’s ticket management system.
- Sellers are required to respond to return requests within 1-2 business days and provide clear instructions for returning the item.
3. **Condition of Returned Items**
- Returned items must be unused, in their original packaging, and in the same condition in which they were received.
- Sellers may refuse a refund if items are returned damaged (unless caused by the carrier) or in a different condition than when shipped.
4. **Return Shipping Costs**
- If the return is due to seller error (e.g., wrong item shipped, damaged item), the seller is responsible for covering the return shipping cost.
- If the buyer simply changes their mind, they may be responsible for return shipping costs, as specified in the item listing or return terms.
5. **Refund Processing**
- Once the returned item is received and inspected, the seller has [2-5 business days] to process the refund.
- Refunds should be issued in the original form of payment.
- In cases where a partial refund is appropriate (e.g., item returned with minor damage), the seller should communicate the refund amount with the buyer prior to processing.
6. **Damaged or Defective Items**
- For items that arrive damaged or defective, sellers must either issue a full refund or provide a replacement (if available).
- Sellers are responsible for filing claims with the carrier for items damaged in transit, if applicable.
7. **Disputes and Resolution**
- If a buyer and seller cannot reach an agreement regarding a return or refund, Swappa's support team may assist in resolving the issue.
- Sellers who do not adhere to the return policy guidelines may be subject to warnings, suspension, or other actions by Swappa.
8. **Communication and Transparency**
- Clear and open communication with buyers is expected throughout the return and refund process.
- Sellers should update buyers promptly at each stage of the process, including return receipt, refund processing, or replacement shipping.
