I was misguided by the post header which said "Fast charging 15W" as it meant the capability of the tablet and the charger that came with it was 5v 1.55a charger(not fast charging). Also the tablet was sold new but was already activated an year ago which says on the samsung website the warranty has been expired.

Return & Refund Policies
Refunds and exchanges are only accepted within 30 days of the purchase date. Item must be in the same cosmetic condition as it was shipped. Furthermore, Water & Physical damage will not be accepted for an Exchange or Refund. All items must be returned in original packaging with all accessories. The buyer is responsible for return shipping (unless the item is the defective or wrong item was sent), and items must be sent back to us within 7 days of receiving return instructions. Lastly, Items returned for the incorrect shipping address, incompatible carrier, Personal dislike, or Re-delivery of an item would have a flat 15% restocking fee.
