Overall everything turned out fine, and the hardware was in the condition as described.

The device bootloader was unlocked and a custom bootloader was installed. It really wasn't difficult for me to reinstall the stock and lock it, but I kind of would have expected it at least be restored to factory state before it got sent.

The shipping had signature verification, I stayed home from work to wait for it, but it actually came the following day. I was just lucky enough that it came late in the day and my wife was able to sign for it.
