Pixel 4 vs Pixel 5a 5G

Upgrading from the Pixel 4 to the Pixel 5a 5G means going from a phone that was released in 2019 to a phone that was released in 2021. Typically, this would result in seeing big improvements, but the Pixel 4 is a flagship model and the Pixel 5a 5G is a mid-range model. Essentially, this means that there are some improvements, some drawbacks, and some similarities. Improvements include going from 4G LTE to 5G, to a larger 6.34” always-on display, and a larger 4680 mAh battery with Extreme Battery Saver. Similarities include both models offering 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. A key difference that falls in as a drawback is the processor. The Pixel 4 is powered by a more powerful Snapdragon 855 processor, whereas the Pixel 5a 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 765G.
