As advertised, like buying new.

The i9 processor presents an intractable heat management problem within a laptop case. Apple is developing their own chip to address this, but expect years before digital audio/visual production vendors provide the same level of support for the M1 they have spent decades developing for Intel architectures.

That said, if you use the MacBook Pro on a desk with a cooling pad, you'll be cool -- the thing could operate the James Webb Space Telescope. You can't use it on your lap for anything that will materially tax the processor, in which case you should have just bought less MacBook.
