There appeared to be a glitch with the phone at the Verizon store, but never repeated. The phone has successfully taken 2 Samsung updates and seems to be working perfectly.

The phone was listed as mint, but the back side of the phone had serious wear and scuffing. I keep the phone is a case so I don't see the scratches, so it's not a big deal to me, but I don't think it should have been listed as mint. Otherwise it is in great shape.
