Upon setup, the fingerprint scanner was non-functional. There was no prompt to enroll fingerprints, nor were there any options within the phone settings to enable fingerprints/biometrics. Several factory resets were performed alongside system updates and fingerprint scanner calibrations. The fingerprint scanner remained unusable. I performed a logcat dump and found that the scanner cannot be detected by the operating system, which is also introducing a battery drain problem, due to the OS constantly attempting to communicate with the fingerprint scanner.
