Frequently Asked Questions
The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. It runs for 12 months from the delivery date.
If a defect shows up during those 12 months, it is treated as having been there when the device was delivered. You do not have to prove that. If the seller believes the problem is not covered, or that it was not a defect at delivery, the burden is on the seller to show it.
Sellers must take care of valid claims. The remedy is a repair, a replacement, or a refund, and the seller chooses which one. …
Some Swappa listings come with an additional One-Year Limited Warranty offered by select from the sellers.
The One-Year Limited Warranty that sellers offer on Swappa is not insurance. It is a limited service agreement covering specific defects under set conditions. See what is covered under the warranty.
Here is how it differs from insurance:

- Damage from misuse, water, accidents, physical abuse, or a repair that was not authorized.
- Battery claims when the battery life is above 70 percent. Battery health is part of the device condition requirements that sellers must list.
- Corrosion on the device.

- The warranty is non-transferable. It covers the first buyer, and it does not pass to a new owner.
- A repair or a new device is covered only for the rest of the first warranty term. It does not start a new term.
- There is no coverage for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages. …
