What is WISE™ certification for repair shops?

WISE stands for Wireless Industry Service Excellence. It’s a certification developed for the phone repair industry.

Why does WISE matter to consumers?

When you visit a WISE-certified repair shop, you can have the utmost confidence in the quality of repair you are receiving. WISE not only establishes industry standards for wireless device repair but also sets the standard for a safe and reliable experience.

What companies were involved in developing the WISE certification criteria?

More than 53 companies and about 200 individuals came together to provide oversight and guidance including:

  • Apple, Samsung, LG and Google
  • Repair brands like Batteries Plus Bulbs, uBreakiFix, CPR and Independent Service Providers
  • US Carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, US Cellular to name a few

What does it mean when a store is certified?

There are two levels of certification for repair technicians which mandate strict requirements for obtaining and maintaining certification.

  • Store technicians have obtained Level 1 certification and proven proficiency for common repairs like diagnostic testing, data backup, restoring and recovering data and testing/inspection.
  • A Level 2 certification validates repair capabilities around more advanced repairs for opening and replacing components including the motherboard, LCD, cameras, connectors and other parts.

If you see a WISE badge for a location, it means that location has a Level 2 certified technician on-site during all business hours and has gone through all the necessary steps and audits to ensure a standard of excellence.
