Can the bootloader still be unlocked on 4.4.2 with the exploit or no?

Yes. There is a way to unlock the bootloader on 4.4.2.
"To root your Verizon DROID RAZR HD XT926 on Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware without unlocking the bootloader, use Geohot’s TowelRoot app. Having rooted your phone unlock the bootloader using Motocalypse and using the instructions given here."
I'm tempted. But can it be un-rooted? (I have rooted and ROM'ed phones, but sometimes I don't want to mess with it and leave it stock.)

Of course. Easily done. All that requires is a full factory restore.
A factory data reset from the menu? or reflash everything? I had to reflash everything on my Razr Maxx(non HD) last week using Droid Razr Utility by Matt Groff (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192467)
(sorry to turn the comments in to a hacking thread instead of talking about buying the phone)

The droid and Droid HD are different beasts, so the method of rooting and unrooting is different. I used towelroot to enable root, which is as simple as it comes to rooting, much easier than DROID RAZR utility or ODIN for Samsung.
To undo root, after using TowelRoot is much easier and does not require a utility or reflashing.
I have a few pictures of it out of the box, but the picture quality is not that great.
