You said only used a couple of days are you the original owner and you just purchased ?

- Apr 09, 2014 - 06:05 PM

I am the original owner. I got the DNA on release day about a year ago. It was an awesome phone that I really enjoyed. The one I had originally had the battery protector door break off. I took it in to a store and they said that it was technically covered under manufacturer's warranty so they gave me a brand new one sealed in box. I used that one for about a week until I got a custom Moto X through the christmas sale. This one has a screen protector and is like new with box.

- Apr 09, 2014 - 06:35 PM

Ok thanks for responding.

- Apr 11, 2014 - 08:53 AM

I know it's not related to this phone, so sorry about that... do you prefer then the Moto X over the DNA? miss the wireless charging much?

- Apr 11, 2014 - 11:04 AM

Angel,
It is a really tough call honestly. I loved them both, and they are both great devices, but I would say the X has a decent edge mitigated by it's size. I got a custom wood back, but the novelty eventually wore off. Really the greatest part about the X was that Moto did such an amazing job with stock Android. Battery life on the X was absolutely awesome. That thing would last an easy 30 hours under moderate usage. That said, I was missing screen real estate the second I switched. It is always difficult to go down in screen size.
That said, the wireless charging was by far the most missed feature, and I was astounded to see Motorola not include it in the X. In the end, I used the DNA for a year straight and pretty much loved it; however, I would say the Moto X is technically the better phone, but was missing some killer features I eventually couldn't do without.

Appreciate the feedback bloo, I have small hands but I'm used to the big screen so same boat it seems as you.

- Apr 16, 2014 - 03:50 PM

In my experience the Moto X battery life took a big hit in 4.4.2, and this stil has not been fixed.

BoyBloo, what phone are you currently using?

- Apr 16, 2014 - 04:01 PM

Rick,

I have the 4.4.2 and I never saw a significant hit. I have a heard a lot of people say this, but I just haven't seen it happen myself. Currently I am hoping back and forth between the Moto X and and LG G2.

- Apr 16, 2014 - 04:08 PM

That's exactly where I was. After playing with the G2 for a week I simply couldn't feel the love for the Moto X anymore.

After putting 4.4.2 on the X I found Android OS was always hogging the battery if location services was on.

- Apr 16, 2014 - 04:12 PM

Really? That's a bummer to hear; although I am glad I did not need to experience that myself. That said, I honestly don't love the G2, but I did need a bigger screen, and seriously want wireless charging... The extra storage is not terrible either... I have have been thinking of jumping ship to either an S5 of a One 2 as well, but the place I want to buy from has been totally sold out.

Does this DNA have the latest Blinkfeed on it?

- Apr 16, 2014 - 04:31 PM

I honestly don't know. I am inclined to say no after the new One came out, but I know a pretty big update came out for it a while back, I just haven't used it in about 6 months. Sorry.

- Apr 16, 2014 - 04:33 PM

I'm thinking about the DNA as an alternative to an HTC One. Wondering if they're on the same Android/Sense. I'm a news junkie, interested in Blinkfeed.

Flipboard brother...

Apr 24, 2014 - 05:14 AM

Can this be used with gsm SIM card?

- Apr 24, 2014 - 09:15 AM

It cannot. This is a Verizon Exclusive and has a CDMA radio. If you out a GSM SIM card in it might be able to partially get LTE for data, but calling and texting would not work.

I read something about it being gsm unlocked. But really such a shame you don't ship internationally, just saw that now. In my opinion, the LG g2 doesn't stand up to the HTC one. And Rick, the new update for this includes an updated version of BlinkFeed

- Apr 26, 2014 - 06:04 PM

It was rooted From day one when s4 still Had unlockable bootloader, I can put whatever rom You would like on it, device swap we could agree to terms To ship at Same time Or ask swappa staff For guidance

- Apr 26, 2014 - 06:27 PM

Kevin,

I am definitely interested in doing the trade. A quick glance of how to do a trade showed this:

http://swappa.com/faq/general

Are you ok if we were to change the prices to even levels and then proceeding according to the trade guide?

- Apr 26, 2014 - 06:33 PM

I would be ok with that, Monday morning would be a great time I can ship and everything at that time, here's my Gmail for hangouts as well crikev2 @gmail.com

- Apr 29, 2014 - 06:15 PM

The phone still for sale? I would do $200.00. Current flagships, Moto X sale, and the new Oneplus pending release, are driving prices down.

I think you're going to see market prices drop down to the $150 range in May.
