Is it still covered under warranty?

Hi Chris; thanks for your question! It is still covered under warranty until October 2014. Let me know if you'd like to know anything else!

trade for iphone 5s in gold? 16gig unlocked with iOS 8 beta 3

- Jul 08, 2014 - 06:35 AM

Which CPU does this have? The 4200u or the 4300u? Assuming 4200u since warranty is until Oct 2014 meaning it was originally bought when the SP2 was first released last Oct 2013? Thanks!

Hi Jonathan,
The Lot No. is 1404, which according to internet threads means the 4300u.

- Jul 08, 2014 - 07:01 AM

So can you tell me when this was purchased? The 4300u weren't released until this year closer to January/Feb so wondering why warranty is only until October 2014. Thanks.

It was given as a gift at a conference, so in the absence of a purchase receipt when it is registered the warranty will default to one year from the Oct 2013 release date.

- Jul 08, 2014 - 07:12 AM

Understood, thank you for answering my questions.

No problem; thanks for your interest

How is this brand new, if it has been taken out from the original packing with seal broken. Definitely like new but not new.

Swappa requires that you take a picture of the item with the screen on. As you can see in the photo, it is the very first screen that pops up when you turn it on. That is the only time it has been touched. So this item is as new as any item on Swappa can be. Thanks for your question!

Having sold stuff on Swappa... I can say with confidence, a brand "NEW" item ..is shrink wraped and not out of the box.

Here is an example for you " http://swappa.com/listing/FAF060/view"

I see what you're saying. I am surprised they let you post it without turning it on, since that was unambiguous in the instructions. Well, now all potential buyers have a clear understanding of what is meant by "brand new" in this listing: turned on once to conform with Swappa's requirement; never registered; never used.

trooper1414, Swappa's definition of new does not require shrink wrap. Please see http://swappa.com/faq/answer/device_condition.

That being said Nicholas, buyers are generally pretty adamant when buying "new" that it be truly new. If there is a chance the item might not be perceived as new then you may want to adjust the condition to Mint or some other better representative condition.

Thanks Brock. I've changed the headline to "new" from "brand new" to acknowledge the lack of shrink wrapping. I don't want to give even the suggestion of an inaccurate advertisement. That said, when a buyer turns on this item it will be indistinguishable from a brand new item from a store, because it has never been activated, registered, or used in any way other than taking that picture.

Thanks for clearing this up ...the intention was not to jeopardize Nicholas posting. Brock..if you could delete these postings it`ll be great...to clear up his thread.....and good luck Nicholas!! Thanks for the clarification.

Nicholas W. Seller
- Jul 11, 2014 - 11:45 PM

All right; it would be nice to get this done, so I'm not going to haggle over $79, but I won't be going lower than $500. I'll change the price to $500, and if you complete the transaction I'll send it via UPS in the morning.
