If you have Sprint you could use your own...I can have the phone activated with Apple's server before you get it, which basically means I use my SIM to get to the home screen. Once you are there you can pop your SIM in from Sprint and be good to go.

Yeah the SIM cards are attached to specific accounts, so basically non-transferrable. Usually you can get them free from corporate stores.
