No screen burn-in or dead pixels. All aspects of the screen look great.
It happened with the Stock OS (not sure if it was 4.0.4 or 4.1.2) and has continued with CM 10.1. Like the info says, the Soundabout app allows to choose where to send the audio. That makes me think it is software, but I can't say for sure.
regarding the sound issue, does it effect voice calls or just the playing of media, etc?
Update: After reading some suggestions on Forum threads, I blew some compressed air into the headphone port. After that, everything with the sound worked fine. There might have been something in the port, falsely sending a signal to the phone that earphones were plugged in. Problem solved.
Does the sound still work fine? I read this too late to see the problem in the description, what exactly happened?
Phone is still for sale. Sound still works fine. At time of original listing, there was an issue where sound did not come out of speaker unless using an app like SoundAbout to force speaker use. This has been resolved and now all aspects of phone function normally, without any workarounds.
