Hey Kemba, I just called apple support after seeing your comment. They said since I got it early in the summer of 2016, it just barely isn't eligible for the program. Since the program is only for laptops purchased in the past 4 years
But I'll say again like I said in the description, the spots of coating missing aren't noticeable when you are using it
