@adam j. I mean you can do that yourself via ota... I'd say the price is decent but $400 is definitely more reasonable

This phone can be flashed to any factory image provided by Google.

Google offers Android 9 and 10 for the Pixel 3 XL.
If you want a specific version of Android provided by Google, I can flash it before shipping the phone.
Non-Google images (custom roms) can also be flashed by unlocking the bootloader (check the box in the developer settings menu).
