Thanks so much for the question. I can't answer directly, as I have not used the machine for large Excel spreadsheets. I have, however, used it to edit large (100 plus page) Word Documents. While it is not quite as fast as my primary computer (which has 8 GB Ram and an i5 processor), the difference is not that noticeable.
Otherwise, the performance has been surprisingly good. It boots quickly, and there is no lag opening programs.
