Is there any reason why you can’t unlock this?
In order to unlock this, it must be opened and used on an active T-Mobile Account for at least 40 days before T-mobile will unlock. Obviously my doing so would not make it new anymore.
I have MetroPCS by T-Mobile. Will I be able to activate it?
It is my understanding that all T-Mobile Locked phones can be used on Metro PCS lines.
You would have to call metro and tell them you want to switch devices but use the same sim as you are using now or get one. They will ask for the IMEI of this new device. They may ask if the new device is unlocked, simply say yes. A lot of metro reps are don't know better and will try to tell you it has to be unlocked, but according to a colleague of mine, all T-Mobile phones work on Metro PCS, even if they are locked. As with any handset switch, you have to provide them with the handset IMEI to activate it on the Metro PCS system.

This has 12 months Applecare warranty from the date of activation. I'm not sure why anyone gets the impression that it has Applecare plus.
