MacBook Air 2015 - 13"

I am looking for a laptop that my daughter can use for college. We are on vacation and someone broke in and stole most of our things including her newish surface pro. I don’t know much about these. Would this be good for using word and writing papers?

Sorry for the delay- this is a great computer for school use. Unless the school uses specific software that requires Windows, the MacOS has versions of most software available, including Office for Mac. It is very light and thin yet has excellent battery life. The only limitation is the 128gb of SSD storage. The Macbook Air uses this instead of a spinning disc drive because it is lighter, smaller and uses less power. 128gb is plenty for school and applications, but not if your daughter wants to store 1000's of songs and pictures and video on the laptop. If you use Google Drive or iCloud or other online storage, then that should not be an issue. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for your interest.

Sorry Betsy S., since I was late seeing this I hurried my response. I just reread your post and now realize your daughter had a Surface Pro. While the MacBook Air is a great school computer, the transition from a Surface Pro to a MacBook would be a steep learning curve, especially if she uses the touchscreen (the MBA doesn't have one). Would love to sell my MBA, but want the person who gets it to be happy with their decision. Let me know if you want any more info. And again, thanks for your interest.

My daughter thinks she would like using the MacBook better than the surface pro because she does a lot of typing and thinks it would be easier. It was purchased 8/26/2015 so it's a little less than 3 years old, although it has had a lot less use than that. After I retired a couple years ago, I reconfigured my iMac to two monitor setup, and that has been my primary Mac ever since. That's why I'm selling the MacBook.

Will you take $625 for it?

To Betsy S. Thank you for your offer. I take great care of my electronics because I know I am going to sell them someday. My MacBook is in mint condition, and comes with all original accessories and packaging. In addition I am including the $40 clear hard case that protected it wonderfully while adding little weight or bulk. For those reasons, I believe it is worth what I listed it for. If it is still unsold in a few weeks, I'll revisit the price. Thanks for your interest.
