It says 1.2G Core M. I don't think there's an option to get Core i5 in Macbook 12".

To get Core m5, you have to look at 2016 model, which has the skylake chip.

How many battery cycles?

Are there any "squishy" keys, keys that feel like they are stuck at the bottom. They still work but don't travel any distance when touched? Specifically the space bar.

I never had problems with the keyboard. It's different from my old MacBook Pro, but it works great. All keys work just was they were new. Plus, you have AppleCare until the end of 2018. I left it home and will check on the battery cycles during lunch break. The laptop was used very little. I have desktops at home and at work. While I am not sitting at the desk, I often use my iPad instead.
