It’s updated with ios 11, I can’t remember which update, but you can update to the current version once you set up the phone.

Body looks to be in pretty rough shape. Was it dropped a few times? Does everything still function perfectly?

I can attest that it works perfectly fine. My mom might’ve dropped it I don’t know. I know she did have it in a case most of the time though.

Any scratches at all on the screen?

The screen is scratch free. It has had a protector on the entire time.

Do the nicks and scratches on the sides affect the phone's ability to work properly at all? Will a case still fit with the nicks?

Hi. No the scratches do not affect the phones performance. It should fit fine in a case. I can’t confirm that it would work with any case but I don’t see why not.
