The phone has two very minor scratches-- one about an inch long that goes horizontally across the middle of the screen, and another about a half a centimeter long that goes in a more vertical direction just above the other scratch, to its left, along the left edge of the screen. Otherwise the phone works perfectly. It is unlocked: purchased in Feb 2015 for full-apple-style pricing, at the Apple Store on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, MO, after a friend smashed the old phone. I'll include a brand new unopened green 10-foot Monoprice charging cable with it.

Any GSM carrier will work. AT&T, T-Mobile, any reseller of their service, and presumably any foreign GSM carrier, but I can't speak authoritatively about that.
