There are a 2 1cm long scratches that are only visible when the screen is off in direct light. You cannot see any scratches with the screen on. I tried to capture the scratches with my phone but the screen is too reflective to see them.

Sorry Alexia, I did not see your comment, there is only one battery. The surface pro devices do not have removable batteries.
