2013 Chromebook Pixel – Spectacular Condition – Original Box and Accessories

For sale is the original 2013 Chromebook Pixel (WiFi). This was the very first Pixel computer introduced by Google, and it remains one of the most premium and technologically advanced devices the company has ever produced. It is also a fantastically fast and reliable computer, with the full power of Chrome OS. This machine, the Core i5 model with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of SSD storage, has been updated to the very latest version of Chrome OS, and it runs significantly faster today than it did at launch.

I consider the condition of this Pixel to be Mint. It functions flawlessly, the screen condition is perfect, and there are no signs of use. Because I take such enormous pride in the condition of my computer gear, there is one – and I mean only one – microscopic cosmetic flaw that I will fully disclose: a barely visible nick along one of the curved corners of the display lid. If I handed you the device and gave you 90 seconds to find this flaw, I'd bet the purchase price you would not be able to pinpoint it. It's that small and that insignificant. It's impossible to even photograph. But, I know it's there, and I take tremendous pride in my electronic equipment. So when I tell you it's the only thing about this device that separates it from "brand new" condition, I mean it. From the display glass to the keyboard deck and trackpad to the all-aluminum, gunmetal-gray enclosure, the device is otherwise FLAWLESS.

The display is a stunning 12.85" touchscreen panel with a 2,560 x 1,700 resolution. Like all original Chromebook Pixel displays, it does feature some mild "ghosting" (if you leave a static image on the display for an extended period of time and then abruptly switch to something else, a faint "ghost" of the previous image is barely visible but goes away after a few seconds). The speakers are also some of the best laptop speakers ever produced. The keyboard is best-in-class even among 2016 machines and features six stages of keyboard backlighting (including "off"). Likewise, the trackpad is one of the best ever produced for a laptop, with an etched glass surface "honed using a laser microscope to ensure precise navigation" according to Google.

The Pixel will arrive Powerwashed in its original factory box (also one of the finest boxes ever shipped by Google, btw) with the original factory charger, the original extension cable (which is still factory-tied and sealed in the box), and instruction manuals that are still in their original plastic. The unboxing and setup experience will be just like brand new. The Pixel will be shipped immediately after payment is received (if during local business hours) or first-thing in the morning the next business day.

At $565, the value available in this machine is second-to-none. It will serve your needs for years to come with the simplicity and reliability of Chrome OS. If you have ANY questions, please ask.

After reading the description - I really feel like the machine is worth more than you are asking. Would you be willing to take $665?

LOL (Full disclosure: Maison and I are good friends). Appreciate the offer, but I'll leave the listing where it is for now. What can I say, I really love this device. I hope/expect the next owner will enjoy it just as much.

Chip. How old is it? Allot of usage?

Hi Derek. I purchased it in December of 2014. It's been my primary computer since then, but it has rarely left my desk.

Why are you selling this?

Hi Alan. I had to switch to a Windows machine (sadly), and the Pixel is too good a computer to sit unused. Like I said above, I hope someone else will enjoy it as much as I have.

noticable wear/tear or dings that you are able to get a picture of?

- Dec 24, 2016 - 09:25 AM

Hi Chip, I am a disabled Veteran on a fixed income looking to purchase one of these Pixels in nice shape like yours. Would you be willing to accept 350.00 for yours?
Thanks for your understanding.

Thanks for the question, Jacob. The one and only imperfection is described in the listing, and it is way too small to show up in a picture. I tried to capture it many times using a Nikon D700 and 28-300mm lens, zoomed in all the way, but it's impossible. It's just that microscopic. So, the answer is no. There is no noticeable wear/tear or dings. If I didn't disclose the one blemish to you, you'd never know it was there. I'll just sleep better having fully disclosed it. Thanks!

Hi Jane. I appreciate your service. Thank you. The price is already very, very low, and the listing is seeing good activity right now. I wouldn't feel comfortable lowing the price at the moment. The price is also all-inclusive for the buyer. I pay for shipping and the Swappa fees. I hope you understand. At $395, I think this is an incredible value.

OK Chip, thanks anyway, let me know if you change your mind, I will keep looking.
Happy holidays.

Hi Grant. I appreciate the offer, but $310 is already much lower than I wanted to go. This is an incredible amount of computer for that price. If you purchase and pay tonight, I'll ship it out tomorrow morning (Sat) so you get it a couple of days sooner.
