Bamboo Moto X, case, original box and charger

Great little phone; if you like smaller phones, this is one of the last ones you can buy! Unlocked (works on T-Mobile, AT&T, or any other GSM carrier). Designed on Moto Maker with a bamboo back and red accents.

It has one tiny ding on the soft bottom corner plastic, but is otherwise in excellent condition. Bamboo back and screen are flawless.

Comes with original box, original charger, original USB cable, and a red silicone case.

Unlocked and running official CM 13 nightlies! Which means Android 6.1 Marshmallow and all the great features that entails.

Damage description

Small ding in plastic on bottom-left corner. No other defects.

Would you be able to put Android KItKat on it?

- Sep 26, 2016 - 04:34 PM

@Fifa M. sure! Would you want CyanogenMod or stock? Either should be possible.

Sep 26, 2016 - 05:27 PM

@Cassidy James

I just had a couple of more questions

1. When you say "ding" on the phone, is it cracked, or just dented?
2. Is the model the original unlocked version, or is it a phone that was locked to a carrier prior, and then unlocked for other carriers?
3. Would you be able to post a picture of the "ding" in question?

Lastly to answer your question, I would prefer the stock version if I were to purchase.

@Fifa M. 1. Small dent, no crack. 2. It's the original unlocked version, purchased from Motorola directly. I believe they marketed it as a T-Mobile-compatible model, but it is the unlocked XT1053 and works on any GSM carrier (I've used it on T-Mobile, At&T, and a small local GSM carrier). 3. Absolutely! I'll upload a photo when I get home.

Stock should not be a problem; I'll start looking into that.

@cassidy James B

Thank you for the prompt reply! Last questions, sorry!

1. How long have you had the phone for? (I ask because i'm wondering if the battery has worn out a bit over time or not)

2. I haven't owned a rooted device before, are there any potential issues I should be concerned about if I do decide to purchase?

- Sep 26, 2016 - 06:19 PM

@Fifa M. No worries. :)

1. I'll have to look it up, but I believe about a year. I haven't noticed a decline in battery life, but your milage may vary. ;)

2. If I restore it to stock, it will no longer be rooted. If I leave Android 6.1 on it, it will have the ability to enable root from the developer settings, but it's disabled by default. Swappa has a good guide about rooted devices at https://swappa.com/faq/buy/should_i_buy_rooted_device; I recommend you read it. Again, that really only applies if I leave the newer OS on it and do not restore it to stock.

With the Moto X, I honestly recommend leaving the newer OS; you get some nice, newer features and it feels smoother overall.

- Sep 26, 2016 - 07:22 PM

@Fifa M. I uploaded a photo of the bottom of the phone. It's purely cosmetic; mostly just a discoloration and bumpy texture.

- Sep 26, 2016 - 07:23 PM

I also found my receipt. I received it late October 2014.

@Cassidy James B.

Thank you so much for all the info!

My current situation is that I shattered my screen on my Moto X. I have an appointment tomorrow to see how much the repair shop is going to quote me for a glass replacement. If they quote to charge too much then i'm better off just buying another one altogether, in which case i'm eyeing this one.

As far as the OS goes, I actually preferred Stock KitKat more than the others i've tried (which is why I regret upgrading my current one to Lollipop, so if I bought yours, I'd stick to that firmware if possible!

- Sep 26, 2016 - 11:54 PM

@Fifa M. Gotcha. No problem!

I checked into flashing Android 4.4 and it turns out it's not as easy as I presumed. It looks like Motorola has pulled all system images for KitKat.

In that case, I'd honestly recommend trying it out with CM 13 on it, especially now that CM officially supports the Moto X. You get a much newer version of Android with all kinds of bugfixes and a few new features as well. It definitely performs better than it did with the stock Android 5.1 Lollipop update.

@Cassidy James B.

I see. Well one of the reasons I liked kitkat so much was because I could use toggle widgets (Ex: powertoggles) to directly disable/enable data/wifi without a settings menu screen popping up first like it does with lollipop. Additionally, active display worked significantly better on kitkat (waving over the screen was enough to enable the active display with notifications and time). Are these features still capable on CM 13?

can you do 80.?
I will do payment right away.

- Oct 09, 2016 - 07:42 PM

Hey sravan, thanks for the comment. I'd like to get closer to the listed price for now; it's already listed below the recently sold average.

- Oct 09, 2016 - 09:13 PM

90.?

Oct 11, 2016 - 12:22 AM

I can buy the phone off of you tomorrow. I live in Greeley, CO. Is there anyway I could just meet you instead of shipping?

- Oct 11, 2016 - 03:55 PM

@Eduardo G. if you can meet in or around Denver, I'd be down for that. Assuming it's allowed by Swappa (the transaction would still need to go through Swappa).

Local pickup is fine. Swappa will handle the PayPal transaction (to keep buyer/seller protections in place). You will receive a link to a private page where local pickup arrangements can be made.

Thanks for the crazy fast response, Brenda!

- Oct 21, 2016 - 09:06 PM

Hey Juan, thanks for the offer. However, I'd like to get closer to the listed price; it's already listed at the current low price and below the recently sold average. :)
