Mint condition Nexus 5x with all sorts of accessories

I bought my wife this lovely Nexus 5x, but after a couple days she decided that she just preferred the iphone. So that means that you, the buyer, get this wonderfully new white Nexus 5x for short money. You also get all the original stuff that came in the box like three months free of Google Play, an extra USB A to C spec-compliant charging cable, blue Adopted case (what they sell on the play store), and a pre-installed tempered glass screen protector with no bubbles. Check the photos for a screenshot showing that the cable is spec compliant and won't blow up your USB ports,

The device has already been unlocked and is currently running a systemless-rooted version of the latest build of PureNexus rom and the ElementalX kernel, which happens to work with Android Pay. If none of that means anything to you, I'm happy to return the device to full stock and locked condition.

All in all, it's a pretty awesome deal. For you. Me, not so much. I'd keep it for myself but I've already got a 5x of my own.

I'm an android guy, and my wife has zero interest in the watch. She does need another phone, however.

- Jan 04, 2016 - 04:54 PM

I could purchase for 360, but you need to upload a verification pic first

Listing approved. Thanks for using Swappa.

There is already a verification photo, and I'm afraid the price is firm given the accessories you're getting, the condition of the device, and the costs of shipping and using swappa.

Hey man I have a lot of accessories with the iPhone. Let me round then all up and tell you what all I have. The iPhone itself is a 64 gb silver on Verizon and I have an extra lightning cable and a white and pink otter box defender with screen protector out because I put a tempered glass screen protector on it

- Jan 04, 2016 - 06:41 PM

And I might have more let me just check and see because I had two iphones but I sold one and gotta see what all I have left. Perfect condition btw. I just like Android better and this one was my wife's and we both like Android better lol.

My wife says she's not interested in a plus, but a Verizon 6 or 6s would be something to talk about.

- Jan 04, 2016 - 06:45 PM

Sorry man all I have is the plus. It's a way better phone than the 6. Way better battery life and camera

Derek Seller
- Jan 04, 2016 - 06:50 PM

If it were for me, I'd agree. Of course I wouldn't be using iOS in the first place. My wife, on the other hand, hates big phones, if for no other reason than the pockets on women's jeans are friggin tiny.

Seriously, go check it out. She can barely fit a 6 in there, let alone a plus.

Derek Seller

Someone needs to do something about this. Demand bigger pockets, ladies! Fight for your right to use phablets!

- Jan 04, 2016 - 06:59 PM

Lol alright man just let me know if any minds are changed. I don't have it up for sale yet so its safe for now

Derek Seller

It's tempting just to get her to check it out and try it. What are the specs, what are you looking for?

- Jan 04, 2016 - 07:08 PM

Let me check real quick and I mean yeah its not a bad idea because iphones sell in no time on here. Especially well taken care of ones. I can send you some pics over email. If you like it I'll put a listing up and we can just buy each others. What's your gmail. Don't put the at gmail because they will take it down. Mines esmccarty09

Any interest in driving it down to Boston? I'd pay $400 if you would. Looks like you may have a deal happening above, so take that deal first in the spirit of fairness. If that breaks down, my option stands. Thanks!

Derek Seller

Bill, why do you need it driven down vs. shipping? If you want to cover the increase in costs, I can overnight it for you. Driving down to Boston is tricky, as I have a one year old that I hang with during the day.

- Jan 05, 2016 - 09:58 AM

It's simply a matter of timing - I'm leaving the state on Friday morning and was hoping to grab a new phone by then. What would be the total cost, including overnight shipping? Thanks in advance.

- Jan 05, 2016 - 11:20 AM

Are you still interested in the iphone Derek?

Derek Seller
- Jan 05, 2016 - 12:47 PM

No, she finds the plus too large and insists that she is not interested. Not going to force the issue.

Bill, I'm quite certain we can figure something out. I'll check the rates. Honestly, USPS priority is so good that it might be overnight anyway from NH.

Derek Seller
- Jan 05, 2016 - 12:51 PM

I think I can get it done for an extra ten bucks, not 400. I'll pop the price up ten bucks and we'll call it good. It'll definitely fit inside a medium size priority box, so I'm sure I can get it done without it being stupid expensive.

Price adjusted, buy whenever you're ready and I should be able to get it out this afternoon once the payment processes.

Derek Seller
- Jan 05, 2016 - 01:05 PM

If you can get this purchased in the next half hour, I should be able to get it into your hands tomorrow. Past that, and it might be Thursday. Depends on when the post office needs it. Worst case we could meet halfway or something before Friday.

Derek Seller

Thinking more about it, I could likely meet you somewhere tomorrow afternoon in MA. Now that I have an idea of your schedule, I think I can make it work for you. I know what it's like getting ready to go on a trip and waiting for a device to arrive before you leave.

Feel free to gmail or hangout IM me at mrdgelinas and we can try and hammer something out for ya.

Hi Derek - I am interested in your phone but unsure of what rooting does to a phone. Could you explain more?

- Jan 06, 2016 - 03:18 PM

Derek, if you can do 350, I will meet you half way to get it. I'm in mass. Thanks.

Derek Seller
- Jan 06, 2016 - 03:44 PM

I can't do 350, I'm sorry. I'd really prefer not to drive it around either if I can help it - I have very little extra time and it's certainly not something I'm going to do if you're offering me less than the asking price. I considered it in Bill's case because he offered to pay me for my time and expense.

Demetrius, unlocking the bootloader means you've flipped the switch on the device that prevents you from modifying the system software. It's the core of why folks use nexus device - they're unlockable without breaking the warranty or jumping through hoops, and can be easily relocked and restored to stock. Once the phone is unlocked, it becomes very simple to root the device or load a custom rom on it. Rooting allows you to make changes to the software that you otherwise couldn't, letting you add features at the system level or just do things you otherwise couldn't. Roms take that further by taking the android code, modifying it and adding features and improvements, and then building that to run on devices instead of the code that google ships.

If you want to tinker, the nexus is the phone to do it with, as you essentially can't break it. Worst case - you screw it up to the point where you need to plug it into your computer and flash the stock software back onto it.

Hit the 1000 character swappa limit, excuse the multiple posts.

I'm happy to ship it as is with the custom rom that is loaded, or return it to stock just as google ships it. I'm old hat and it won't take me more than an hour to get it where the buyer prefers it.

Note: dropped the price back down since the earlier sale discussed did not go through.

- Jan 06, 2016 - 04:44 PM

Thank you Derek. Once you revert it back to stock, how Google ships it, does the rooting increase any chance of problems down the line for the phone?
