Hi Janet, just clarifying: are there any scratches or dings (damage) on this iphone? Also, how is the battery life on it, does it last a full day of use? If it is sitting, will the battery keep its charge for several days without use?
Also, what was the original phone carrier of this phone? Was it GSM with ATT or T-mobile?
Hi Jaqueline
The original carrier for this phone was AT&T. It has subsequently been used on StraightTalk GSM (an AT&T MVNO).
The battery is original and thus holds a charge about as well as any iPhone battery of the same vintage. Keep in mind that this is an iPhone manufactured in late 2015, I'd be shocked if it held a battery charge for several days while powered on (my 6S does not even with a new battery), but I just powered the 5 up for the first time since posting this ad on 3/17/18 and it's at respectable 85%. I've attached a coconutBattery report taken just now so you can see the battery's cycle count.
There are no scratches or dings to the back, sides or bezel, the phone has been kept in a rugged case. There are a few light scratches on the screen of less than .25" long which are faint enough that they do not show up in photos. These scratches are not visible unless the screen is off and the phone is held at an angle to a bright light.
Best, Janet
Thank you Janet, I really appreciate your time & offering the battery info. Do you happen to know what the max cycle count is on the iphone 5 battery? Also, could you try to capture the scratches on the screen in a photo?
Hi Jacqueline
Added a photo of the screen outdoors, at the angle where the scratches would show if they could be captured in a photo. Lint does show nicely, though.
I haven't any idea what the maximum battery cycles are but googled "max battery cycles iPhone 5" and turned up this info from Apple: "A normal battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 500 complete charge cycles when operating under normal conditions." support. apple. com / en-us / ht208387
This phone's battery cycles are at 548 per coconutBattery, so you should expect this battery to have no more than 80% of the battery life it had when it was new. Also using the coconutBattery report, we can do the math of working out the percentage between 1440 mAh (the battery capacity it had when it was new) and 1228 mAh (the battery capacity it is capable of now). 1228 is 85.28% of 1440, which is slightly higher than expected but still less than new, of course.

Has that iOs caused any problems with that iPhone, causing it to bog down in any way? I hear that some phones had problems.
I haven't noticed any, however performance expectations should be taken in context of this phone, like all iPhone 5's, being 2012 hardware.
Sellers should not share ESN / MEID / IMEI numbers, so please don't ask them to. This FAQ page explains why: http://swappa.com/faq/sell/share_esn_numbers
Hi Nik
I don't believe the A1428 models are compatible with Sprint or Verizon as A1428's are GSM.
