# Swappa Warranty, Questions and Answers

## Who Provides the Warranty?

The One-Year Limited Warranty on Swappa is provided directly by the seller, not by Swappa itself. This warranty applies only to products explicitly listed with the warranty offer at the time of purchase.

Swappa has selected vetted businesses sellers to partner with for our warranty program. These are well established businesses that have the testing and equipment to offer a warranty that meets our requirements. 

* Only listings marked as having a "One-Year Limited Warranty" are covered.
* Swappa acts as a trusted marketplace but is not the provider or administrator of the warranty.
* The warranty provider (the seller) is responsible for handling all valid claims, including repairs, replacements, or refunds.

## What is Covered?

*   Defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for **12 months from the delivery date**.
    
*   Sellers must address warranty claims with options such as **repair, replacement, or refund**.
    
*   Refunds within the first 30 days will cover the full purchase price. After 30 days, refunds will match the device's average sale price on Swappa at the time of the claim.

## Is This Insurance?

No, the One-Year Limited warranty offered by sellers on Swappa is not insurance. Instead, it is a limited service agreement that covers specific defects under set conditions.


Key differences from insurance:

* Insurance typically covers accidental damage, theft, or loss. This warranty does not.

* This warranty applies only to defects during normal use.

* Insurance is often subscription-based; this warranty is a one-time inclusion with eligible purchases.

## What is Not Covered?

While the One-Year Limited Warranty provides robust coverage for defects, there are several important exclusions that are not eligible under the warranty policy.

* Damage due to misuse, water exposure, accidents, unauthorized repairs, or physical abuse.
* Battery claims if the battery life is above 70%.
* Claims for receiving the wrong device from the seller.
* Products purchased outside the 48 contiguous U.S. states.
* Loss of the device

## Warranty Limitations
