A verification photo contains the item being sold along with a unique code provided by Swappa. So yes, you will need to create a listing first before snapping your verification photo.\u00a0Note how each photo shows the device with the screen on, and the listing code is clearly displayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By showing the item next to the unique listing code, it proves you (the seller) has the device in your possession. This prevents scammers from creating listings for high-dollar devices they do not actually own. The first, and main purpose, is to show you have the device that you are listing for sale. The other reasons are to show off the device to prospective buyers and to help staff verify the condition of the device.
