Today marks the beginning of a new month, September, which means we can take a few minutes to look back and see which phones made the best-selling list for August 2021. We are also eagerly anticipating the upcoming Apple event and taking guesses about how a new iPhone might change the best-selling list for this month. After all, a new iPhone means lots of sellers will be listing<\/a> their gently used iPhones as a way to fund their upgrades.<\/p>\n

Top selling used phones from August 2021<\/h2>\n

When Swappa launched in 2010<\/a> the marketplace was full of Android smartphones. In fact, at the time, listings were limited to Android smartphones. But over the years, the iPhone has taken the lead on Swappa, and the top-selling used phones list<\/a> is generally dominated by the iPhone.<\/p>\n

The month of August holds true to that statement with seven of the top ten smartphones being iPhones. The three Android smartphones are all from Samsung and include the Galaxy S9, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10 Plus. Coincidentally, these were the same three Android smartphones that were on the best-selling list for July 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

There are also quite a few similarities in the iPhone models. Many of the models were the same if you compare July to August, but we are seeing some interesting changes in position. Notably, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 appear to be getting overtaken by some newer models such as the iPhone Xr and iPhone 11. Of course, the iPhone 7 is sitting in the sixth spot, and the iPhone 8 is sitting in the third spot, so it doesn\u2019t look like they are being kicked off the list just yet. <\/p>\n\n\n
