When they\u2019re not answering questions and helping users in our marketplace, they\u2019re actively stopping fraud and would-be scammers from making a home in our marketplace.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, this hasn\u2019t stopped the internet scammers from coming up with new ways to steal your money. When fraudsters find out they can\u2019t use our marketplace to scam people, they often try their luck at stealing Swappa\u2019s stellar reputation for safety <em>outside<\/em> our marketplace.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is Swappa Espa\u00f1a real? NO<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Not too long ago we told you about fake Swappa profiles <a href=\"https:\/\/swappa.com\/blog\/letgo-fraud-scam\/\">popping up on yard sale apps like Letgo<\/a>, but we\u2019ve recently learned that scammers are now using Swappa\u2019s name and logo to create fake websites in other countries.<br><br>Swappa.es \u2014 aka \u201cSwappa Espa\u00f1a\u201d \u2014 is the newest fraud attempt that masks itself as a legitimate website in hopes of scamming buyers with promises of discounted PS5s and other consumer devices.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let us be clear: <strong>Swappa.es is <\/strong><strong><em>not<\/em><\/strong><strong> legit and is 100% a scam<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/swappa.com\/faq\/answer\/buy-international\">Swappa is uniquely a US-based marketplace<\/a> and does not exist anywhere outside the United States. This means Swappa does not exist in any capacity outside of Swappa.com.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alas, our support team has already received a handful of reports from unlucky users who were conned out of their money. Again, Swappa is in no way affiliated with Swappa.es and while we can scream it from the rooftops, bargain hunters should exercise the utmost caution when looking for deals on discounted tech.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The old saying goes, if it\u2019s too good to be true \u2014 it usually is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What does this mean to you? Well, should you ever come across an account on OfferUp or Facebook Marketplace claiming to be a Swappa employee or representative &#8212; it\u2019s 100% a scam. Additionally, any website purporting itself to be an extension of Swappa.com is fraudulent and should be reported as such.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>The internet can be a scary place and there are no shortage of scammers out there trying to steal your money.
