Pixel 3a vs Pixel 5<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Released in October 2020<\/a>, the Pixel 5 has a 6-inch, OLED, high 90Hz refresh rate display, and an impressive camera. If you\u2019re coming from the Pixel 3a, the Pixel 5 can offer improved performance and a lot of great, new features. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One big reason why you\u2019d want to switch to the Pixel 5 is for its 5G capabilities. This ensures faster data speeds and lower latency, allowing you to download higher definition videos, stream music at higher quality, or stream games faster. Even if your area doesn\u2019t have access to 5G at the moment, it might still be a good idea to invest in a 5G phone now. As this technology becomes more commonplace, why not future-proof your phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor and with 8 GB of RAM, this is a significant boost in performance compared to the Pixel 3a. Battery life is also improved, with a larger 4,080 mAh battery compared to the Pixel 3a\u2019s 3000 mAh. It\u2019s not just the higher capacity either, the Pixel 5 features a much more power efficient Snapdragon 765G chip. Google also introduced a new Battery Share feature to the Pixel 5, which automatically preserves the battery, so it\u2019s there when you need it most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is also no XL variant on the Pixel 5, but the Pixel 5 has a larger screen than the Pixel 4, 3, and 3a at 6 inches. With an 8 MP hole punch selfie camera, the Pixel 5\u2019s screen takes up more of the phone, saying goodbye to the larger forehead. In addition to the rear 12.2MP dual-pixel camera, the Pixel 5 also includes a 16MP wide-angle lens.

Pixel devices are known for their cameras, and the Pixel 5 is no different. But what makes the Pixel camera great is less about the hardware and more about Google\u2019s machine imaging software. In addition to features like Night Sight, Super Res Zoom, and Motion Auto Focus, the Pixel 5 brought even more powerful low light situations and improved HDR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like the Pixel 3a, the Pixel 5 has a fingerprint sensor on the back of the device. With a glass back and wireless charging, the Pixel 5 has a more premium, modern feel than the Pixel 3a. Unlike the Pixel 3a, the phone doesn\u2019t have a headphone jack. But with improved performance and camera quality, this phone is a solid upgrade from the Pixel 3a. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
