Hello, quick question--is the phone unlocked, or is it tied to Sprint, Verizon, e.t.c? I'm a T-Mobile user and apparently an unlocked iPhone is the only way to go.

Correct, Jix, it is Verizon. I know there are some services that will unlock phones for an additional cost though. Unlocked vs. Carrier is personal preference, I suppose.

So how does this work with Verizon? Once I get the phone, I just can take it to Verizon and have them swap my service from my existing phone to this one?

If you already have existing service with Verizon, then yes, you can activate this phone with no problem. The nice thing is that you won't have to deal with an early upgrade penalty, extending your contract, etc. I've done this several times without issue.
